after leaving jw, being a former regular pioneer for many years, i wanted to still help others is a meaningful way.

this year i am raising money for the leukemia & lymphoma society.

i am training to run a marathon, 26.2 miles as part of my fund raising.

I would send a letter of thanx. Finding a creative way to say " I know all the scriptures you state - did u remember [forget] I was a pioneer for several years?" Some thing like that. What an insult to you !

Would You Stay As A Witness, Even Though You Knew It Wasn't "The Truth"?

when a witness starts thinking, there comes a time when decisions have to be made.

when you know that their bible chronolgy is unsupported or that the revelation climax book is absurd, it begins the process of 'what are you going to do now?

'......what could get you motivated is the realization that "love" is not the hallmark of this organization.

Reason #1
When a Witness starts THINKING, there comes a time when decisions have to be made.
Reason #2
When you KNOW that their Bible chronolgy is unsupported

I personally think that AFIN has his right to think what he/she wants to. [Now I am confused as to gender, though I thought AFIN was male before this thread - no insult intended here]
What I object to is the 'hit and run' style he uses! Just like we used as witnesses in the door to door. Never hear anything logical or thought-provoking coming back from the comment we just made. Blitzkrieg! Then run to the next thread and do it again.
I have been a significant non-supporter of AFIN - but I do hope he, like all dubs, eventually comes to his senses. Otherwise he might end up 'getting it' when he is old and grey and wasted his whole life. That would be a shame - I have seen hundreds do that already. I don't wish it upon him. So this site might be his best hope for learning the truth about the 'Truth'. I hope he does! Just look at the latest by SOJ - one never knows -

That seems significant to me. Have other halls ended up in hands outside the organization? If I understand the legals here, most halls are set up with local administration, but legal ownership is held by the WTS or one of the corporations.
I always thought that is wrong, since the local cong pays for the place. Kinda like selling a house to someone who will hand over the title when it is payed for.

Got My Memorial Invitation Today

i was shopping with my wife and when we got home there was a handbill in the door that invited us to the memorial, 3/24 at 7:00 pm.

i noticed the handbill was printed in canada.

Do you think that JW's will publish an updated Rev book to downplay the UN

with all the scandal about the un do you feel that the gb will have to print a "new" and updated book on rev to disregard the un being the beast of rev so the new jw's coming in won't even be aware that for over 100 years the jw's taught that the un was a disgusting beast and part of satan's organization?

It is amazing that in other WT publications, where they discuss the book of Revelation, they quote another WT publication to support their conclusions.

How true, Blondie. I have been doing some extensive study on the UN and have found several articles like that. Often they go way back to the 30's and 40's Watchtowers to support the conclusion that the LoN and the the UN was pictured by the Rev prophecies. Amazing example of circular thinking. Ue your own theories to support your own theories.
